  • Set your printer's printing mode.
Most printers allow you to set your printing mode from economy to normal and high quality modes. When you're just printing a draft, set the mode of your computer ink to economy mode. The printout would be a little lighter, but can save you time and computer ink.
  • Use the print preview function.
If you need to print some materials downloaded from the Internet, use the print preview function to view the materials that you're going to print. You can delete or eliminate some images that are not necessary, thereby, saving yourself some computer ink.
  • Choose other colors.
Some people often favour using the black computer ink over other computer ink colours. That's why black is often the mostly replaced computer ink, while the other colours tend to dry up and become wasted. Although black is the preferred colour mode for economical use of computer ink, make it a habit to use the other computer ink colours at least once a week.
  • Do a little shake.
When your computer ink is running low, don't panic. Remove the computer ink cartridge and shake it gently from side to side before you reinsert it. Shaking the computer ink cartridge distributes little amount of computer ink that's left and will allow you to print some more.
  • Don't make it stop.
Don't stop the printer in mid-cycle. It will cause the printer nozzle to dry out and your computer ink to leak. Moreover, don't turn off the printer if you're not yet done printing. Each time you turn on your printer, a little bit of ink is used.
